Today we had huge response to our "Dad's Lunch". There were Dads and Grandads everywhere you looked. We stopped counting at 60! Thank you for your wonderful support today. The children loved being able to share time with you when they were actually at school. It was a great chance for dads to see the work the children have been doing recently, to spend time reading and playing together. Keep an eye out for next weeks Midweek paper for some photos of the day. We had so many photos that we had to make 2 slideshows to share them with you. THANKS from all your children for making an effort to join us today.

Today 5 lucky children went to the Town library to meet the author of Piggity Wiggity Jiggity Jig. They had a fabulous time and even got to dress up. Mrs Alderlieste took the photos and videos to share with those of us who didn't get to go. Thanks Mrs Alderlieste and Mrs Young for making it possible for the children to have this great experience.

On Thursday Drew read a book award story called "Roadworks". It was written by Sally Sutton. The children enjoyed the story and then went to the sandpit to have fun with all the trucks and bulldozers that Mrs Paterson brought to school. It was so much fun as you can see by the photos Liam and Maddy took.

Next Friday we are having a special "Dad's and Kid's" lunch. We are inviting all Dad's along to share books with their children and have a delicious sausage as well. The notice below has gone home with all the details. Don't forget to let the office know if you are coming so we don't run out of sausages!!

Today we had our first "NZ Post Book Award" activity. Courtney van der Burgh read the lovely story "Piggity-Wiggity Jiggity Jig" to 40 excited children who then set about making little pigs for a library display about the book. All the children put their names into a draw to pick 3 children to go and met the author, Diana Neild, next Tuesday.I wonder who will be the lucky 3?
